It's always good to have some basic tools in your car and maybe some other odds and ends. It has been discussed what is good to keep in your car and all that but how do you all organize it / keep it tied down? Everyone, not really but everyone should, know that loose objects in the cars are a hazard. My In my car I figured out a way to keep most everything I need and then some down where the spare tire is meaning no loose objects in my trunk most of the time.

This is what the divider looks like under the rear floor with the spare tire below it. There is a random assortment of screws and extra hardware from my mudflaps incase one rips in the round gladware. Other odds and ends, some basic tools that can get about anything done. Gloves, Duct Tape, glass cleaner, bug tar remover, wheel cleaner, shitty armor all interior spray (have to get something different, this stuff is just awful), heat shrink tube, electrical terminal things, and of course some clif bars because they come in handy every now and then.

Kinja'd!!!

Underneath all that is the spare tire with some oil, webbing, jumper cables, some wire in there somewhere, vacuum hoses, and then there are microfiber towels, wax applicator, and a wheel brush in the bags.

Everything fits in there great and is barely shifted around. Everything fits right as it should keeping the floor flat just like it is. There is also a little storage area right in front of this behind the back seat.

Always forget about this spot and never noticed it until a month or so after I got the car. I have in this one several beer coozies, wax, claybars, quik detailer, febreeze spray, apparently a bottle of Shout?, and a sven folding saw (really nice to have when going camping or going down seasonal roads).

Also shots of my car since I had the camera.

I have an under hatch trunk thingy (its the technical term) like you, except my spare is mounted outside my car so toyota conveniently added velcro to the sides so I mounted velcro to my small toolbox and put it in the corner. I also keep some cleaning implements in a box down there and all of my towing stuff . I also have a small jack and god knows what else the side panels of the hatch.

Well, because I'm so impractical at things, I only have a duct tape and jack and something to opens the tire, a screwdriver, and some grease. Afterall my car already weighs 4400lbs so I have to save some weight..

My trunk stuff; I bet the camera no longer works as it's really quite old.

Kinja'd!!!

It all fits neatly in that backpack on the right with room to spare. And if your going to pack battery jumper cables, get an extra-heavy-duty set; those inexpensive ones will not function properly in wet conditions nor when you need them the most!

I will replace the camera and the waters later today! Thanks for posting "Junk-in-the-Trunk". Take care my friends!

It seems you have a bit too much in your trunk for daily driving. Here are the items I always keep in my car, flashlight, spare fuses, duct tape, small fire extinguisher, two cans fix-a-flat, spare headlight and tail bulbs, jumper cables, 12vdc tire inflator, two bottles drinking water, first aid kit, spray bottle of water for quick cleaning, roll of paper towels, digital camera, hand cleaner, a siphon hose, and an empty 2.5 gallon gasoline jug. All of the above items fit inside a small box and leaves 3/4 of my trunk open for cargo.

I used to have so much crab in the door pockets and center console. Eventually it started getting to be a mess so I decided to try and get rid of a lot of the useless stuff lying around

Yeah, I really need a toolbox. I keep tons of tools behind the passenger's seat, as I regularly need to use them to start my car. Been meaning to get one at Harbor Freight. I don't even want you to see what a mess it is, but it includes wire strippers, dikes, screwdrivers, electrical tape, a hammer, various switches, lots of alligator clips, etc...

Well a lot of the cleaning implements are just because I am doing a bunch of moving and it is easier to store it in my car than continue leaving it random places. Other than that though, most of the stuff barely weighs anything

I keep in my toolbox assorted metric wrenches, vise-grips, leatherman wingman, 10-in-1 screwdriver, roll of 18gauge steel wire, fuses, bulbs, electrical tester, electrical tape, and an L.E.D. headlamp I "borrowed" from my brother but after proving useful during low light repairs is now an essential. Not in tool box spare tire, lug wrench, belts, extra oil, fuel filter and a haynes manual. Everything fits in side cubbies on either side of trunk.

Thank you for covering up your license plate like a smart person, instead of having a dumb car covering censorship block of blackness, or having your kid hold up a piece of paper here, or covering it with your thumb, thus ruining the pic with a giant finger.
